Joseph Lee K-8’s team’s team traveled to Costa Rica in April to help with clean-up at a bird sanctuary following the damage caused by Hurricane Nate. They worked in 90 degree weather, raking and removing banana tree branches. In addition, they volunteered at an elementary school, teaching English to 8 and 9 year olds. They planned and executed the lessons and learned how to readjust teaching methods to meet the needs of individual students. They also volunteered at a high school, helping them with their recycling project.
