Lissette graduated from English High School in 2000, moving on to Wheaton College where she graduated in 2004 with a double major in International Relations and Hispanic Studies and a minor in sociology. She received her Masters in Art in Teaching from Tufts University and training in Special Education from Northeastern University. Lissette’s greatest joy is her daughter Nairobi, an honorary Quest member! She just graduated from Tufts University with a Masters in Public Policy. Lissette is inspired by Benito Juarez’s quote ”El respeto al derecho ajeno es paz.” or “Respect for the rights of others is peace. She teaches Spanish to native speakers at Fenway High School. Fenway High School was awarded (4 years ago) a Quest grant, which allow for 17 students to go to the Dominican Republic in hopes of addressing Apatrida (the denial of citizenship to Haitian – Dominican Children. Thanks to Quest, she was able to organize 2 out of the 4 service learning trips to the Dominican Republic and Honduras which allowed her to extend her curriculum (based on the Pedagogy of the Oppressed) beyond the classroom walls.
